The Story of Apocalyptic Dreams
Apocalyptic Dreams is an instrumental metal album built on classic heavy metal roots with strong melodic storytelling. Because there are no vocals, the riffs, rhythms, and lead melodies tell the story. They pull you into this world instead of narrating it. A world that’s dark, sinister at times, but strangely enticing.
The opening track, Redemption, sets the tone with driving riffs and melodic solos that immediately pull you into this apocalyptic landscape. From there, darker tracks like End of Days, Facing the Guillotine, and the title track Apocalyptic Dreams, carry the weight of the chaos unfolding around you.
Songs such as Out There, Dark Forces Shall Bow, Mission: Terminate, and Legion of the Underworld continue that progression, bouncing between experiencing the darkness and fighting through it. You’re not just witnessing the apocalypse…you’re pushing back against it.
One of the album’s most meaningful themes appears in As Iron Sharpens Iron. Although the title references a biblical concept, the deeper message is about how we sharpen one another through struggle, unity, and refusing to divide ourselves when everything around us is falling apart. Even without vocals, the music carries that sense of rising together.
The album shifts sonically and thematically with Fire and Ice, a track about contrast. Two forces that shouldn’t coexist, yet somehow fit perfectly when brought together. It’s about discovering unexpected harmony amongst chaos.
Then comes The Healing, a soothing and emotional track that many listeners have deemed as their favorite. After the chaos, conflict, and dark atmosphere of the earlier tracks, The Healing feels like taking a breath. It’s the moment where recovery finally begins.
Finally, the album ends with The Epicist, dark and powerful, yet uplifting in its own way. This final track is meant to say you are the epicist. You have everything you need within you, even in the face of destruction, uncertainty, and darkness.
Apocalyptic Dreams will always hold a special place in my heart. It was my first official album release, the fulfillment of decades of being a guitarist, and finally bringing a lifelong dream to being. And fittingly, the theme of the album is a journey through darkness, conflict, survival, contrast, and ultimately, transformation.
